Gilyn Gabbard served as Iowa’s First female Command Sergeant Major.  She served her state, country, and the soldiers of Iowa well.  Unfortunately on January 20th she became the 50th Iowan killed in the war in Iraq. As you may know I spent a week in a Train The Trainer course for ICS 300, and 400.  This was an excellent opportunity to learn, meet new people, and get to talk with the old standards in Iowa’s emergency response network.  I wish that I had time to blog more about this course, but the Friday we finished I was off to the WTA (CAP’s Drill weekend).
